Preparation Prior to Service
Remove all electrical outlet covers and switch plate covers in the unit. This allows the technician to access hidden areas where ants may be nesting.
Thoroughly clean all kitchen and bathroom surfaces, ensuring they are free from grease and sugary items. Pay special attention to areas around appliances such as fridges, stoves, and microwaves.
Only if you notice the ants in this area, remove all items from kitchen and bathroom cupboards, cabinets, and drawers. This ensures the technician can access the back of each cabinet and drawer for effective treatment.
Remove clutter, especially near sources of heat and moisture. Pharaoh ants feed on a variety of items found in cluttered areas. Also, remove old or ripped shelf-paper from inside cupboards, cabinets, and drawers.
Pharaoh ants are attracted to garbage, especially if it contains food scraps or sugary residues. To minimize the risk of attracting ants, it is crucial to empty your garbage daily.
To prevent attracting Pharaoh ants, make it a habit to clean all dishes, utensils, and cookware immediately after use. Ensure that no food residues or crumbs are left on countertops, tables, or in sinks.
Keep all food in airtight containers and fix any dripping taps or leaking pipes. Ensure there are no splashes of water in the kitchen or bathrooms. Pharaoh ants can survive for one month on water alone.
Turn off heating/air conditioning systems to prevent circulation to other units in apartments.

Important Steps Following Treatment
Residents and pets should stay out of the treatment area for at least 4-6 hours after the treatment.
You may still experience activity for up to two weeks after the treatment. Pharaoh ants prefer nesting in dark places such as in walls, beneath floors, near heaters, and under carpeting.
Do not use insecticide sprays or harsh cleaners as they will render the treatment ineffective and cause the ants to spread more.
People with respiratory challenges (i.e., Allergies, Asthma, Heart Conditions, Pregnant Women, Infants Under 1YR) should stay out of the treatment area for at least 12-24 hours after the treatment.
Once you return to the treated site, open windows for at least 15-minutes to ensure proper ventilation.
Do not clean up or remove the bait that was applied to different treatment areas. Bait stations must remain where the technician placed them.
Ensure all food is kept in tightly sealed containers. Clean up spills as they occur and remove trash on a regular basis to remove any competing food sources.
Monitor for ants trailing in or near nesting locations, such as behind baseboards, above ceilings, in furniture, light fixtures, and around food or garbage.
Do not use off-the-shelf pest control chemicals or cleaning products near bait placements as they can decrease or eliminate the effectiveness of the treatment.
