Preparation Prior to Service
Turn off heating/air conditioning systems to prevent circulation to other units in apartments
Ensure all furniture and items in suspected infestation areas
are moved at least 12 inches away from the walls and
baseboards.
Cover fish tanks, terrariums, and small animal cages with a
clean towel or sheet and air filters must be disconnected.
Remove all covers from power plugs, as the technician may
need to treat inside the walls.
Ensure access to the basement areas if needed by the
technician.
If the kitchen is an area of concern, empty the bottom
cupboards and closets.
Store pet food in sealed containers and avoid leaving pet
food out overnight.
Clear all furniture and removable items touching the external walls
of the house to allow for treatment.
Ensure there are no firewood, tree stumps, lumber, or other
wooden panels within 2 feet of the building.
Move any vegetation, including plants and trees, at least 2 feet
away from the building. Trim and remove tree branches where
possible.
Remove any soil or dead tree leaves along the foundation or
siding of the house, if possible.
Inspect and seal any cracks or gaps around windows, doors, and
the foundation to prevent ants from entering the home.
Store all food items in airtight containers and clean up spills
promptly to remove any potential food sources.
Ensure trash bins have tightly fitting lids and empty them regularly
to prevent attracting ants.
Keep the yard well-maintained by regularly mowing the lawn,
trimming shrubs, and removing debris to reduce ant habitats.
