Carpenter Ants Treatment

To ensure Seaside Pest Control delivers the most effective service possible, we kindly request that you carefully review and complete all the necessary steps listed below. Following these steps will ensure that your technician can perform a safe and successful treatment.

Preparation Prior to Service

APARTMENTS/SHARED VENTILATION UNITS

Turn off heating/air conditioning systems to prevent circulation to other units in apartments.

INSIDE HOME

Remove all furniture and any items or clutter in the suspected infestation areas at least 8” away from the walls and baseboards. Ensure all other areas where infestation is visible is cleared so the technician can easily access. Remove all covers from power plugs as the technician may need to treat inside the walls. The technician may need to access the attic or basement areas where possible, please ensure access is available if needed.

OUTSIDE HOME

Remove all furniture and any removable items touching the external walls of the house to clear way for treatment. Ensure there are no firewood, tree stumps, lumber, or other wooden panels within 2-feet of the building. Carpenter ants hide in rottng or damp wood. Any vegetation including plants, trees, tree branches should be moved at least 2-feet from the building or trimmed and removed where possible. If there is any soil/dead tree leaves along the foundation or siding of the house, they should be removed if possible. Remove/dispose of any dead, rotten landscape ties, dead / rotten wood stumps around the house as the carpenter ants hide and nest in dead rotten wood. Replace all rotting wood in the house, deck, or landscaping. Remove and clean dead trees and leafs wherever possible

Important Steps Following Treatment

Residents and pets should stay out of the treatment area for at least 6-hours after the treatment.

To avoid re-infestation, keep all removed items away from treatment area.

People with respiratory challenges (i.e., Allergies, Asthma, Heart Conditions, Pregnant Women, Infants Under 1YR) should stay out of the treatment area for at least 12-hours after the treatment.

Avoid brining in any new funiture until treatments have been completed and it is confirmed that the carpenter ants have been eradicated.

Once you return to the treated site, open windows for at least 15-minutes to ensure proper ventilation.
